Processes, also known as tasks, are actions performed by you that need to be calculated/processed somehow, and therefore some time will take until the process is completed. It can take from as little as 4 seconds to days or weeks, depending of the action you are performing and others factors.
Task Manager
Task manager is the page where you can manage your processes. It also lists your running softwares, and how much RAM you are using.
Processes Duration
Download / Upload software
When downloading or uploading a software, the duration of the process will depend of two factors:
- File size
- Relative internet connection
The file size is easy to understand. It simply is how many MB you need to transfer. The relative internet connection works the following way:
When you are uploading a software, you are the source (uploader) and the victim is the target (downloader). The relative connection speed will be the lower between your upload speed and the victim download speed. For example, if you have a 100 Mbit connection and are uploading to a 1 Mbit server, your upload speed will be limited to ~125 KB/s. (the victim download speed will be the limit)
When you are downloading a software, you are the target (downloader) and the victim is the source (uploader). The relative connection speed will be the lower between your download speed and the victim upload speed. For example, if you have a 1 Mbit connection and is downloading from a 1 Mbit server, your download speed will be limited to ~64 KB/s (the victim upload speed will be the limit)
That said, another limit is the percentage of your internet you are using for the current task. For example, if you are performing two downloads at the same time, your internet speed will be split between the two tasks.
Delete software
Deleting a software will depend of two factors:
- Software size
- CPU power
Performing this action on your own server is 2x faster.
Install / Uninstall software
Installing (run) and uninstalling (kill) softwares will depend of two factors:
- Software size
- CPU power
Performing these actions on your own server is 2x faster.
Hide / Seek software
Hide and seeking a software will depend of two factors:
- Software size
- CPU power
When seeking, there is an additional factor:
- Hidden version
Higher the hidden version, more time will take to seek the file.
Performing these actions on your own server is 2x faster.
Bruteforce attack
A brute-force attack process depends of
- The attacker's CPU
- The attacker's Cracker
- The victim's Password Hashing
The same logic applies when cracking a bank account.
Port Scan
Port Scanning takes a fixed time of 30 seconds.
Exploit attack
Performing the exploit attack (after the scanning) always takes 60 seconds.
Run Anti-Virus
Format Hard Drive
This feature is not yet implemented.
Launch DDoS
Research
The time to research a software depends only of it's version.
| Current Version (v) | Duration (s) |
|---|---|
| < 3.0 | 280 + 20 * (v - 10) |
| ≥ 3.0 and < 5.0 | 660 + 10 * (v - 29) |
| ≥ 5.0 and < 7.5 | 900 |
| ≥ 7.5 and < 10.0 | 1200 |
| ≥ 10.0 and < 15.0 | 1500 |
| ≥ 15.0 | 1800 |
Edit Log
Editing log files is certainly a key aspect of the game. Two factors determine the duration of this action:
- Log size
- Your CPU speed
Editing logs at localhost gives a speed bonus of 50% because of the low latency. The minimum time taken to edit a log is 4 seconds, and the upper limit is 60 seconds.
Some users intentionally leave large blocks of logs to delay remote edition. Having a good CPU is, therefore, essential.
Reset IP
You can reset your IP on the ISP. It takes a fixed time of 10 minutes.
Doom the Internet
Feel lucky if you launched one of those. Doom takes 6 hours to complete. It is the final part of the Storyline.
